UK auction search engine AuctionLotwatch.co.uk announced today its Top 75 most searched for items in the busy Christmas trading period. No surprises then that this Christmas technology products once again dominate the list:

1. wii
2. nintendo
3. Apple iphone
4. xbox 360
5. sat nav

AuctionLotwatch have been providing a free meta search facility that allows users to search the largest UK Auction sites since 2001. Together with a range of free auction search tools they display millions of auction lots every month and the list can provide a helpful guide to the UK’s most wanted auction items.

"The UK Auction market has certainly grown over the last year with auction users prepared to use multiple auction channels" says AuctionLotwatch Managing Director Steve Durkin. "Internet users have become much more savvy and are prepared to search and compare prices using both auction and standard retail sites. Certainly the early results are showing that this Christmas many more people will be avoiding the high street in favour of an online alternative."

A recent report by Deloitte suggests that shoppers in the UK will spend £200m a day on the internet in the run up to Christmas, with the total holiday spend likely to hit £4bn. Christmas 2007 will definately be a bumper trading season according to the forecasts with online spending
set to double over the previous year.
