| Hi Phuzzled
Welcome and I know what you mean about spending too long on ebay. But have another think about starting yet another auction site. New ones are sprouting up every month, probably every week, but all but a tiny percentage are doomed to fail and disappear within a year or less. You can see some threads plugging new sites on here - go & look at the sites & most will have few listings and more important very little buying activity.
To successfully launch a new site you need a lot of money to invest in it, publicise it, maintain it, guard against the spammers and the crooks and if it does take off you will need to pay staff to help you. A successful site cannot be run by just one person.
If you're tired of ebay, instead of setting up another clone, go and join one of the alternatives that have taken off. These include ebid, Tazbar, Specialist Auctions and Delcampe. Others making progress include Bideasynow, Auctions Worldwide, GB Auctions and the revived Zolanta. There are plenty more in the US & elsewhere. These sites are who you would have to compete against and some of those are struggling a bit. |
