| auctions8.com is the exciting new international auctions & trading site.
Our founding members are the small sellers including the IT professionals who were pushed out by the policy changes on feebay. We have representatives in several countries.
We loved the community spirit we once had and we are determined to rebuild what we once had. Our main currency is USD. Time Zone GMT
We wanted a place where we could stay without the fear of everything changing in the pursuit of money. At auctions8 we will be donating 50% of our profits to charities. That is the difference. We are not here to line our pockets by taking advantage of other members.
To celebrate our beginning we are inviting first 1000 genuine sellers to register as a VIP. VIPs will NEVER pay fees regardless of how much they sell.
If you are one of the first 1000, You will get Free Store, Unlimited Listings, Relistings, 10 images per item and much much more for the rest of your life if you have minimum 10 items in your Store at any one time.
Yes! NEVER PAY ANY FEES AGAIN
No Store Fees, No Listing/Relisting Fees, No FVFs, No Selling Fees
And sell all you want....
After the 1000 VIPs it is only $20.00 USD flat membership to remain active. Nothing complicated and very simple. No percentages or value of items sold. Life is already complicated!!!
Join up & tell your friends. Start listing today & tell your customers where you are. It won’t take long for us to prosper & grow. We are here for the long haul.
Together we will build a safe & happy site where we don’t have to worry about unfair policies & whether we will be still have a venue in the future

| It's nice to see a site where there are already a lot of listings. But to get to 1000 members will take an awfully long time and meanwhile you are not taking fees so I would think financially that is going to be quite a burden for a long time and not leave any money for development, hiring staff etc.
The other point that strikes me is that though it is you say an international site, there's no clue where it is based, under which country's laws it is operating and equally important who are the people or company actually running it? I think many people, including me, would want to know this information before considering going on to a new site and listing items for sale. :) |

| Your site looks great & I agree with #2 what's the future plans without an income at present?
As I'm looking for a new home, I would like enough info to make that choice. :)
Thanks & good luck with the site. |

Thank you for your comments.
The site's status is improving daily.
Auctions8.com is a new site only and owned and managed 100% by it's determined members who are located all over the world including the IT professionals. You will find a lot of text information about who is involved and why we are together on the site. The current leadership team will grow even more if there are more suitable new leaders accepted in future. The governing laws are international laws.
It is clear that the concept is new for most people. We acknowledge
after 15+ years of eBay's worldvide monopoly and culture it will take time for the average person to see what is on offer, but we are here for the long haul.
The feedback received so far is encouraging and refreshing at the same time. Just like us in the team, having a permanent and a safe home is priceless to all sellers these days and this is what is available at auctions8.com.
The fact that team members will maintain the site and it's operations at every level surely will secure it's future success at any cost. Another aspect of the site is that it will never be sold off for any amount of money.
The site belongs to all the members.
Our future and our Members are priceless.
Kind Regards

| I don't think anyone could accuse this forum of being "cluttered". As you chose to start this thread here and the other one you refer to just contains 2 postings by you, then this seems the appropriate place to respond.
What concerns me is you haven't really answered the question. Is the site owned by a partnership, an individual, a corporate company and where is it based? It must be based somewhere. And equally importantly what law is it operating under? With respect, to say it is operating under "international laws" is meaningless. I might as well claim I'm subject to international laws but I'm not. I happen to be subject to UK laws. If I go abroad then I am subject to the laws of the country I'm in as well as UK laws. Normally one would expect an organisation/individual to be subject to the laws of the country their HQ/base is in.
Why it's such an important question, is I can think of a number of countries I wouldn't be happy to pass personal details to if I was registering for a site which turned out to be in one of those countries. With so much internet crime & identity theft, and I'm not suggesting you're involved in any of that, people have the right to know who they are dealing with. I and others want that information before coughing up personal details so we can make an informed judgment. At the moment I don't think people have that in regard to your site. I expect you'll think this is pedantic but if you are based in the European Union, including the UK, or in the USA or no doubt many other countries, you would have to supply this info on your site, as its a legal requirement. |

| ( Enthusiast ) he is right you need to supply company address where it is registered along with the ID number if you do not supply this information and your acting as a business then your site can be closed down as you are breaking the law in the UK so you need to go to www.companieshouse.gov.uk and get your company registered |

| We were under the impression that this thread would have been just to say Hello and brief introduction.!!!! It seems that we will have to delete our posts here soon so we don't take up too much space.
We are registered in both in USA and Australia with technical and admin volunteers located all over the world. At present, we are a non-profit organisation and not a company or a business as what we have been doing as a team is totally voluntary as indicated all over both threads and will remain that way. We have not accepted a cent/penny from anyone and will not. At any stage, we will never ask, require or keep financial details of our members.
If anyone would like further information, you must kindly identify yourselves first and email us at info@auctions8.com.
Thank You
Kind Regards
