You may need more than luck though as I amsure you are aware there are lots of other free auction sites.Usually you will find that most are unable to succeed through lack offunds to effectively promote their sites.I can't comment much on your site unfortunately as there doesn't appearto be any lots listed. I can say though that if you intend to continue youwill need to add some proper contact details, address etc and information about who's behind the site. It would give a bit more confidence to potential users if your "About Us" page had some information.My advice would be to forget about having so many categories and insteadto target a niche or have some other USP. | You've asked for people's comments but I can only re-iterate what Steve has said. Unfortunately the list of empty categories is not inspiring to either sellers or buyers and probably to get the site off the ground you need to populate some of them with a few items of your own. But basically there is a lot of competition out there and at present your site does not appear to offer anything different to dozens of others. Faced with such a range of options people will go to those sites which show signs of real activity. That is the problem facing anyone starting a new generalist site. I wish you well but as a buyer and a small scale seller my limited time will remain confined to those sites where I can find the things I want and/or get some sales. |
